RECORDING OF RADIO PROGRAMME “MAR DE ARDORA” (Radio Galega)

Recording and digital retransmission of a special of the programme “Mar de Ardora” by Radio Gallega, focused on the world of the sea. Presented and directed by Xusto López Carril, it will have as guests Manuel González (mayor of Outes), Marcos Gallego (director of the Mostra MDFDM), Xisela Franco (filmmaker and festival curator), Marisol Amado (president of the Asociación de Mariscadoras a Pé da Confraría San Bartolomé de Noia) and Ramón Collazo (president of Agalcari).

Photographic exhibition commemorating the International Year of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture 2022, promoted by the United Nations and represented in Spain by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, which offers a portrait of small-scale fishing in the world.

Film festivals in rural areas

Round table organised in collaboration with Proxecta. Coordinadora Galega de Festivais de Cinema, in which various professionals from the sector will discuss the reality of programming film festivals in rural Galicia. Moderated by Elena Mareque (Proxecta), it will include the participation of Ángel Sánchez (co-director of Play-Doc), Xisela Franco (filmmaker and festival curator), Manuel Pena (director of FICBUEU) and Jesús Silva (programmer at MDFDM and film critic).

UP CLOSE WITH SHELLFISH FISHING ON FOOT

Up close with shellfish fishing on foot. Representatives of the Agrupación de Mariscadores a Pé da Confraría San Bartolomé de Noia will give a demonstration of the shellfish extraction process on Siavo beach. Afterwards, at O Freixo fish market, participants will be able to see how the product is classified and weighed.

The image of fishing and fishermen in society

Round table with the participation of several experts and professionals from the fishing and scientific sectors, in which they will discuss the perception that society has of the world of fishing, as well as its repercussions in the political and environmental fields. Moderated by Javier G. Galdo, it will bring together Basilio Otero (president of the FNCP), Carmen Alonso (skipper and fisherwoman on the “Carmín”, Asturias), Emilio Louro (Marketing and Distribution of Artisanal Fishing Online) and Eva Velasco (scientist and researcher at IEO/DIVERSIMAR).

SHOW COOKING

Gastronomic tasting session by the Asociación de Hostalaría Ría da Estrela. Formed by a group of hotel and restaurant owners from the Ría de Muros e Noia, it is currently made up of around 30 members, representatives of the tourist industry which is the fabric of the area. The dishes will be prepared with typical local products.

HERITAGE TOUR

With wet feet

This tour is designed to raise awareness of and spread knowledge about the historical importance of the carpentry of the Ribeira in Outes, which will culminate in a guided visit to the Estaleiro Ciprián – Espazo Museístico da Carpintaría de Ribeira de Outes. Explanations by Antonio Rodríguez (Tremuzo) and Ignacio Fernández (Tourism Technician of Outes Town Council).

SAIL BOAT TRIP ON THE “JOAQUÍN VIETA”

The historic sailing ship Joaquín Vieta – Balandro, built in 1916 in the Ríos shipyard (O Freixo), began its activity as a goods transport vessel in 1917. From the 1960s until the beginning of the 21st century, it acted as an auxiliary boat. It was at the beginning of this century when the Balandro Joaquín Vieta Association saved it from scrapping and decided to rebuild it.

During the Mostra, the sailboat will leave the port of O Freixo together with several traditional boats of the Terra de Outes Association, skirting the coastline of the Ría de Muros e Noia.

MOBILE PHONE CINEMA WORKSHOP

The Mobile Phone Cinema Workshop that the Mostra MDFDM has been developing since its first edition, is reinforced this year with the participation of students in two training and educational activities that had the collaboration of the City Council of Outes, GALP Costa Sostible, IES Poeta Añón, ECONOIA 3 Project of the Plan Mar Limpo of the Ministry of the Sea, the group of shellfish fisherwomen from the fishing guild San Bartolomé de Noia and the cultural association “Terra de Outes.”

In these training activities for new audiences, the students came into contact with cinematography and with the narrative treatment of their heritage, social and environmental surroundings. During the closing ceremony of the V Mostra MDFDM, the work developed will be screened and diplomas will be awarded to the students.
