POETIC PERFORMANCE
Nao Cetácea
SUNDAY, 14th DEC | 11:00am
Xosé Iglesias (Cee, 1974) will introduce us to his four poetry collections — Transfusión Oceánica, A Relixión do Mar, Luces da Costa de Morte e Atlántico Norte y Chamádeme Ismael — through video poems and recordings made over 12 years aboard his fishing vessel, the Primeiro Villar.
His images were captured during his voyages to the fishing grounds of the Rockall Sea, a rocky outcrop in the North Atlantic where waves can reach up to 20 meters high. A different way of approaching the sea that will move us.
During the video screening, Xosé Iglesias will paint a marine watercolour live, a special visual poetry celebrating the maritime world.

STORIES OF CINEMA
O cineísta andarengo: a propósito de Bernardino de Lamas
SUNDAY, 14th DEC | 12:30pm
Manolo González (A Rúa, 1955) presents his latest work, focused on one of Galicia’s first amateur filmmakers, Bernardino de Lamas, the pseudonym of journalist Alfonso Piñón Teijido. The passion for cinema, nature, and journalism of this Ferrol native led him to walk streets, paths, and trails to film with his Pathé Baby camera what he observed, producing nearly three hundred films between 1924 and 1934.
During the presentation by researcher, writer, and teacher Manolo González we will have the opportunity to view some of Alfonso Piñón's recordings, authentic visual documents of early 20th-century Galicia.
